McDonald’s Corp (NYSE: MCD) officially launched its long-awaited loyalty program nationwide on Thursday. After more than six decades of customers showing their loyalty towards the ‘Golden Arches,’ the fast-food giant is ready to return the favor. Customers will soon be able to use the all-new MyMcDonald’s Rewards feature located within the McDonald’s app to earn points that can be redeemed for future free menu items.
McDonald’s growth strategy
McDonald’s announced in late 2020 a growth strategy titled ‘Accelerating the Arches’ that focused on leveraging customer-facing technologies and digital offerings. The goal is to generate a more rewarding customer experience through greater personalization, convenience, and value.

To celebrate the launch, July 13 will be known as ‘World Famous Fan Day’ and McDonald’s is offering free french fries for anyone who joins the McMcDonald’s Rewards program. The company is also offering the fans a chance to prove loyalty with the World Famous Fans competition. Sixty-six fans will win 1 million MyMcDonald’s Rewards points which is good for 166 Big Macs or 666 Vanilla Cone treats.
To enter, fans have to share why they are the most loyal McDonald’s fans on Twitter from July 13 and tag @McDonalds with the hashtag #MyMcDonaldsFanContest and the home state. Entrants can check the full rundown at MyMcDonaldsFanContest.com. The exciting part is it is the fans who will be judges.
